Fabio Lombardo
ItalyFabio Lombardo was born in Tunisi, Italy in 1942 and studied architecture in Florence and Palermo, graduating in 1969. In 1973 he collaborated to the Sicilian designer Carlo Scarpa, with whom he worked until Scarpa's death in 1978. From 1981 to 1995 he worked with Afra and Tobia Scarpa. His projects with them included: a restoration project of Stoccarda State Theatre, the Hisaeda house in Tokyo, the Benetton house in Treviso and the Daolio house in Guastalla. From 1992 to 1998 he worked on several projects: a restoration project of Queen Cornaro's Barco in Altivole (Treviso) commissioned by the Benetton Group, the Yokohama Port Terminal, the extension and replanning of Prado Museum in Madrid and a new building for IUAV University in Venice. From 1974 to 2002 he designed showrooms, house interiors and installations for exhibitions in several Italian and other European cities. From 1988 he work for industrial design: he has designed products for Flos, Vanini, Bellato, Cidue, I.B. Office, Casamania and Woodesign. He lives and works in Venice.
